That being said, the best thing to do is to let the person know that you heard them, you understand that they feel down, and you’re there for a word of support or to help out whenever they need it.

Also, don’t feel like you have to wait until you’re entirely overwhelmed to step down for a day. Admitting that you don’t feel well, in this case, is a sign of strength.
There are also times when you might want to consider reaching out to your doctor or a mental health professional for further assistance. If you have been experiencing symptoms that are creating distress and interfering with your life, for longer than two weeks, it is important to talk to your doctor. This may indicate a more serious mental health condition such as depression.
