Many people on social media this year discouraged others from setting a New Year resolution.Opting out of a resolution isn’t necessarily a bad idea.

As a therapist, I’ve worked with many people ready to declare the entire year a failure after giving up on their resolution. But you don’t have to do that.

If your resolution isn’t working out as you’d hoped, you can still do plenty of things to make this year amazing.

Sometimes that starts with changing the way you word your resolution. A few simple shifts in how you set your goal can set you up for success.

On this episode of The Verywell Mind Podcast, I share how to reword a resolution into an attainable goal, what to do if your resolution has started to slip, and how to make this a great year without a resolution at all.
