The Verywell Mind Podcast’s“Friday Fix” is a short episode that features a quick, actionable tip or exercise to help you manage a specific mental health issue or concern.

In recent years, the idea thatphysical healthis related to mental health has become less controversial.
It’s clear that physical activity isn’t just good for your body. It’s also good for your mind.
But themind/body connectionis a two-way street. There are many ways you can use your mind to help your body too. Everything from laughter to meditation might help you live a healthier, longer life. Your mind can also help you perform better, regardless of whether you’re an athlete or a salesperson.
You might even be able to build muscle without even lifting weights. Just imagining yourself working out can produce the same benefits as lifting weights. Of course, thinking about exercise isn’t a good replacement for doing the work, but it shows how your mind might physically transform your body.
In this episode of The Verywell Mind Podcast, I share some of my favorite examples of how you can use your mind to benefit your body. And if it sounds too good to be true, tune in. I share the research behind each of these strategies.
